Peace Arch Hospital Foundation Projects: Foundry South Surrey-White Rock

Foundry South Surrey-White Rock

Invest in youth wellness, close to home!

At Peace Arch Hospital + Community Health Foundation (PAHCHF), we believe that strong communities are built by protecting our most vulnerable. Right now, our youth need us more than ever.

Young people across British Columbia are experiencing unprecedented rates of mental health challenges, substance use, and crisis. Toxic drug overdoses are now the leading cause of death for youth aged 10-19 in BC, with fewer than 25% of young people accessing the care they need.

When refused or confused by an overwhelmed health care system and uncoordinated services, many youth turn to Emergency Departments or simply give up after spending months on waitlists. Their families are frustrated, and things have been getting worse. Our health system and communities urgently need coordinated, accessible, low-barrier services designed with and for youth.

To respond to this urgent reality, PAHCHF is partnering with Sources Community Resources Society (SOURCES) to establish Foundry South Surrey-White Rock: a purpose-built, youth-centred space offering integrated health and wellness services under one roof, with no referrals, no fees, and no waitlists.

Supporting the health and well-being of youth is central to building a healthier community for all. By investing in this centre, we are not only providing a safe, welcoming space for young people to access the care they need, but also ensuring that families have local, integrated supports close to home. This project represents collaboration, compassion, and a shared commitment to the next generation.
