If you are a social service worker, first responder, childcare provider, or other essential service worker who needs space to self-isolate between shifts to protect yourself, family, or roommates, Alexandra Neighbourhood House’s Retreat & Events Centre is offering temporary, no cost accommodation with a referral from your employer or organizational manager or supervisor.

Alexandra Neighbourhood House Retreat & Events Centre

Their Retreat & Events Centre in Crescent Beach offers individual dorm rooms, bedding, and indoor/outdoor communal spaces to relax and regenerate while practicing social distancing.

“We are pleased to be able to offer our colleagues working in essential services with temporary respite shelter – a safe place to self-isolate between shifts when unable to do so at home,” says Penny Bradley, Executive Director of Alexandra Neighbourhood House.

As a recipient of Peace Arch Hospital Foundation’s Rapid Response Grant, Alexandra Neighbourhood House has been working towards developing procedures and acquiring resources to safely respond to emergent needs of essential workers. “We are grateful for the support of our funders and other partners,” says Bradley.

Peace Arch Hospital Foundation (PAHF) launched the Rapid Response Grant (RRG) to respond to the ever-changing needs of the White Rock and South Surrey community during times of uncertainty or crisis, providing quick financial assistance to those working diligently to aid our community. The RRG provides urgently needed funding to support programs, services, and activities to assist in alleviating effects of events causing large-scale community impact, natural disasters, and pandemics such as COVID-19.
