Peace Arch Hospital Foundation Projects: Leave a Gift in My Will

Leave a Gift in My Will

Come full circle with a gift that will have lasting impact for years to come.

Many of our donors support the Foundation with a legacy gift (a gift in their will) to show their appreciation for the care they or a loved one has received. Their gift completes a circle of care for each other that goes on to benefit so many other people in our community. The Weatherby Circle honours and celebrates these extraordinary individuals who have kindly supported Peace Arch Hospital Foundation with a gift in their will. See below for the variety of ways you can leave a legacy gift.

If you are interested in learning more about making a legacy gift, we’d love to assist you in the process. If you have any questions about leaving a legacy gift, OR if you have already made a provision in your will, please let us know by emailing Shonna Breslaw or by calling 604.535.4520.

When including a gift to Peace Arch Hospital Foundation in your will or other legal document, it is extremely important that you use our correct full legal name and charitable registration information:

LEGAL NAME: Peace Arch Hospital & Community Health Foundation

ADDRESS: 15521 Russell Ave, White Rock, BC V4B 2R4

Bequest of Cash or Estate Percentage

An outright bequest of cash or a percentage of your estate gifted to the Foundation can be left to benefit a specific area of the hospital, or for the area of greatest need. The charitable tax receipt can offset up to 100% of net income, and any unused credit can be carried back one year to reduce tax paid the preceding year.

Gift of Securities

Gifts of publicly-traded securities are an easy alternative to cash when you want to donate to Peace Arch Hospital Foundation. You will not be charged tax on any capital gains and will receive a charitable tax receipt for the full amount. The Foundation will also realize the greatest value from your donation. Visit our Give a Gift of Publicly-Traded Securities page for more details or simply download the fillable Share Transfer Form and drop it off at our office.

Gift of RRSP / RRIFs

An opportunity to leave a future gift to the Foundation without jeopardizing future income. Your estate receives a charitable tax receipt to offset some or all income tax payable, and is not subject to probate or estate fees when given directly to the Foundation.

Gift of Property

Ideal for those with modest cash flow or few liquid assets who would still like to give.
• Principle residences
• Qualified farm property
• Land or recreational property

Gifts of Life Insurance

Life insurance offers various ways to donate and to receive a charitable tax receipt. Some donors simply name the Foundation as the ultimate beneficiary of a life insurance policy and their estate receives a tax receipt for the proceeds.

Please let us know if you have made a provision in your will, by emailing Shonna Breslaw or by calling 604.535.4520.
