WHITE ROCK, BC – South Surrey’s Pistachio Boutique is known locally for offering funky, multi-purpose fashions that can be dressed up or down, for work, play, or eveningwear. And recently, they have added fundraising to their repertoire of expertise with their Trinkets to Treasure initiative.

Trinkets to Treasure asked that members of our community bring in pre-loved pieces of jewelry to be re-sold at Pistachio Boutique for a cause. Five dollars from every sale directly benefit Peace Arch Hospital Foundation, while another percentage of the sale was credited back to the customer for use at the shop. This creative, third-party fundraising event began in early January of this year, extending into February and raising $500 for Peace Arch Hospital Foundation.

“Supporting healthcare in our community is so important right now,” says Janie Anderson, owner of Pistachio Boutique. “The dedication displayed by frontline healthcare staff who are committing to doing everything they can do to help has been inspiration for us to do the same for them. Clothes and accessories make people feel good and giving back to our community is an obvious fit!”

The boutique has been located in the White Rock/South Surrey area for nearly 10 years, and is a pillar for all things fashion, inspiration, and community. Despite the challenges instigated by the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, Pistachio has found tremendous ways to stay connected with their client-base virtually, supporting those who may need extra assistance when they can.

“January is typically not our busiest month,” says Anderson. “So, we switched our focus to helping others. Selling is important for business, but we are more concerned with the important relationships we have with our community. Even those who may be scared, sick, or isolated deserve to feel beautiful during this time.”

From everyday basics to designer label fashions, Pistachio has something for everyone and is living proof that fundraising can be fashionable. “In every situation, you have to look for a silver lining,” adds Anderson. And with its myriad of crystal-coated walking canes, dazzling outfits, and glittery jewels, finding a silver lining at Pistachio Boutique is easy!
