White Rock’s Fairy Tales & Superheroes Party

Once Upon a Time… White Rock’s Fairy Tales & Superheroes Party brought the magic to 400 kids and their parents on November 2 at Hazelmere Golf & Country Club. This sold-out rendition of the annual fundraiser that started as the White Rock Princess Party in 2010 by the White Rock Firefighters Charity Association raised more than $40,000 with all proceeds going towards Generations Playground.

“This year, we really wanted to create an event that was more inclusive and incorporate superheroes alongside the princesses,” said Stephanie Beck, Peace Arch Hospital Foundation’s Executive Director. “Having both sets of characters was a huge hit with the kids, both boys and girls.”

Activities included a slime-making station, face painting, the Cake Walk game, a superhero skills training obstacle course, balloon art, and the opportunity to make cards for the residents at Peace Arch Hospital’s Weatherby and Hogg Pavilions.

White Rock’s Fairy Tales & Superheroes Party was capped off with a stage show featuring The Little Mermaid’s Ariel, Prince Eric, and Ursula the Sea Witch, Aladdin and Jasmine, Moana, Supergirl, and Spiderman.

Generations Playground, a joint project between Peace Arch Hospital Foundation and the City of White Rock, is an all abilities and all ages play space in Centennial Park that the Foundation has committed $675,000 to funding.
