WHITE ROCK, B.C. – In honour of Make a Will Week, we’re celebrating community members who support their hospital with their legacy. Jane & Jack Aanen show how thoughtfulness can continue to make an impact long after one’s lifetime.

Jack & Jack Aanen first made South Surrey their home in 2012, after living in Tsawwassen for 25 years. After years of receiving compassionate care at Peace Arch Hospital, they knew they wanted to make an impact on their community and their hospital. In 2020, Jane & Jack decided to leave their home to Peace Arch Hospital Foundation. This meaningful gesture reflects their gratitude and belief in the power of giving back.

“As longtime supporters of Peace Arch, we discussed what we wanted to do with our assets and we both agreed we wanted to support the hospital in a big way,” Jane says.

Following Jack’s passing in 2020 and Jane’s earlier this year, their planned gift in their Will has come to life, helping ensure quality care for generations to come.

Their story is a beautiful reminder that your Will can be more than just a legal document. Instead, a Will can be a reflection of your values, a way to keep your memory alive, and a continuation of the good work you’ve done in your lifetime. One decision, made with care, can ripple through an entire community.

This year, for Make a Will Week, consider how your legacy could shape the future of care at Peace Arch Hospital.
