Matt Couldwell

As a partner, CPA, and serial entrepreneur, Matt brings a uniquely operational lens to succession planning. One that goes beyond financial and legacy considerations to address what happens to the business itself when an owner steps away.

With over 15 years of experience spanning public practice, industry, and his own ventures, Matt understands firsthand how deeply an owner can become embedded in the day-to-day fabric of a business. His work focuses on helping small and medium-sized businesses build the systems, structure, and leadership capacity needed to thrive independently of their founder. So that when the time comes to transition, the business is truly ready.

Matt specializes in cash management, budgeting, and operational oversight, with experience across CPG, financial services, insurance, real estate, specialty trades, and mining. His goal is to ensure that business owners can exit on their own terms, with a company that runs well without them. Protecting both the legacy they’ve built and the people who depend on it.

Outside of work, Matt enjoys time with his family, golf, ten pin bowling, the occasional beer league baseball game, and cheering on the Canucks and Blue Jays.

"The simple act of giving is truly transformational. Every dollar we receive is enhancing health care in this community, whether it’s supporting our capital infrastructure, the purchase of essential medical equipment, or funding a wellness program like stroke recovery or a children’s club to encourage healthy habits and active play. It all matters and it all makes a difference."
