Ellen Sinclair Kennett Lodge - Peace Arch Hospital

WHITE ROCK, B.C. – The PAH Foundation Lodge, a 200-bed residential care facility and hospice, has unveiled a new name in tribute to longtime White Rock resident and community volunteer, Ellen Sinclair Kennett.

Ellen, who passed away in October 2022 at the age of 93, was the first board chair of Peace Arch Hospital Foundation when it launched in 1988 and an active volunteer in the community for the Peace Arch Hospital Auxiliary, First United Church, Peninsula Arts Foundation, the Council of Women, the White Rock Historical Society, the Semiahmoo Sailing Club, the Canadian Cancer Society, the Kinsmen Mother’s March, and was one of the founders of the Seniors Come Share Society, now operating as Brella Community Services Society.

“We are so honoured to celebrate Ellen’s tremendous contributions to our community with this naming recognition,” said Stephanie Beck, Peace Arch Hospital Foundation’s Executive Director. “The Ellen Sinclair Kennett Lodge is a well-deserved legacy for the caring, inspirational, and selfless woman that Ellen was. She was a true community champion who put her heart and soul into the betterment of White Rock and South Surrey for everyone who calls this community home.”

On June 17, 2023, Ellen’s family and friends gathered at the newly named lodge to celebrate her life and legacy.
