White Rock, B.C. – On February 6, Peace Arch Hospital + Community Health Foundation welcomed the Year of the Horse with our annual Chinese New Year celebration at Mingyan Seafood Restaurant. More than 70 valued members of our Chinese community attended this exclusive gathering to reflect on the past year’s impact and look ahead to the year to come.

Chinese New Year represents renewal, prosperity, and unity. This year marks the Year of the Fire Horse, a zodiac sign associated with dynamic energy and action. These qualities strongly reflect the spirit of our Foundation because we are driven by community leadership, generosity, and a shared determination to advance healthcare close to home. It is also an opportunity to recognize the extraordinary commitment of our Chinese community, whose continued support makes a meaningful difference on our community.

The event featured a traditional banquet and festive photo booth, while guests connected with fellow supporters who share a deep commitment to advancing care at Peace Arch Hospital and beyond. Together, we celebrated what has been accomplished and the priorities guiding us forward in the Year of the Horse.

We were honoured to welcome:

Cici Liang, Foundation Board Member and Leader of our Foundation’s Asian Committee, reflected on the Asian Committee’s accomplishments over the past three years.

Dr. Jane Wu, Internal Medicine Physician at Peace Arch Hospital, spoke about the vital role Peace Arch Hospital plays in our community and the impact of every person’s support.

Stephanie Beck, CEO of PAHCHF, shared the history of Peace Arch Hospital and highlighted our Healthy Community Grant Program, guided by our mission to create the healthiest community possible.

Their insightful remarks reinforced the powerful role our Chinese community continues to play in shaping the future of care close to home.

Events like this are more than celebrations, they are reminders that meaningful progress happens when community comes together with shared purpose. With the Year of the Horse underway, we remain inspired by the leadership of our supporters and shared commitment for exceptional healthcare.
