White Rock, B.C. – White Rock’s Generations Playground will soon have a new splash pad! On April 24, Peace Arch Hospital Foundation’s CEO Stephanie Beck stood alongside White Rock’s Councilors, Mayor, Fire Captain, and firefighters to celebrate this exciting project. Hoping to be open in time for fall, the new addition promotes staying active for all ages.

Mayor Megan Knight and council members Michele Partridge, Elaine Cheung and Christopher Trevelyan were there to accept donations to the project from two community partners: the Peace Arch Hospital Foundation ($100,000) and the White Rock Firefighters Charity Association ($119,500). “These are not just contributions to the project, but investments in the well-being of the community,” Knight said.

PAHF has a vision to make our community the healthiest possible, and we are so grateful for donors who support this mission. The Denis and Yvonne Blakely Trust made a generous estate gift of $100,000 to our Healthy Community Grant Program, which allowed our Foundation to fund this splash pad at Generations Playground.

“Denis and Yvonne Blakely shared a love of children and wanted to make a lasting impact on their local community. Their contribution is a testament to their vision and compassion, ensuring their legacy will continue to touch countless lives,” says Stephanie Beck, CEO of PAHF

The Generations Playground opened in November 2018 with support from the City of White Rock, the White Rock Firefighters Charity Association, and donors from our supportive community. The addition of the splash pad at Generations Playground will not only enhance Centennial Park, but it will also inspire people of all ages and abilities to support their community and stay active.
