WHITE ROCK, B.C. – Steeped in Elegance, a new fundraiser for Peace Arch Hospital Foundation, raised more than $600,000 for a new production kitchen at the hospital.

The Bridgerton-style event on September 10 was attended by 100+ women philanthropists in the community who gathered for a garden tea party at an Ocean Park estate to unite in spirit and generosity for their hospital.

Lead donations included a $200,000 anonymous donation along with a $125,000 matching gift from Neil and Karla Kerr.

“Throughout history, women in philanthropy have been the quiet force behind great change,” says Stephanie Beck, CEO of Peace Arch Hospital Foundation. “What we saw at this afternoon tea fundraiser is part of that legacy: women leading with both heart and vision, uniting not for social standing or acclaim, but for impact.”

Construction begins this fall, and the new kitchen will open in early 2027, serving fresh from-scratch meals to patients and medical staff.

Steeped in Elegance was conceived and created by Foundation volunteer Joelle Paleologou, who provided the vision, inspiration, and creative direction for the event. Floral arrangements were donated by Ashberry & Logan Floral Design, A Passion for Flowers Design Studio, MistyBlue Flowers, and Howe’s Market.

Guests enjoyed a perfumery bar where they customized their own scent, fashion illustrators who captured their Regency-inspired outfits, and calligraphers who added their names to handheld fans.

Donations towards the new production kitchen can be made at pahfoundation.ca/kitchen.
