White Rock, B.C. – In every community, there are people whose generosity quietly changes the world around us. For Peace Arch Hospital, Neil and Karla Kerr are among those people.

In recognition of Urology Awareness Month in September 2024, Peace Arch Hospital Foundation raised funds for top-notch urology equipment to ensure that the hospital’s operating rooms are equipped with the latest tools. Many donors in our incredible community stepped forward to support this initiative, and one couple made a truly transformational impact.

The Kerrs made a generous gift of $182,000 to fully fund the purchase of state-of-the-art urology equipment. Their support has allowed Peace Arch Hospital to meet and exceed the standard of care for patients in our community.

Not only is their gift already making an impact at Peace Arch Hospital, it also is close to the heart for these donors. Neil is a bladder cancer survivor, so he understands just how important it is to have access to advanced, timely, and compassionate care right here at home.

“We’re grateful to support Peace Arch Hospital and proud to help bring this crucial, state-of-the-art equipment to our community. It’s so rewarding to know it’s already making a difference for patients, and will for generations to come.” – Neil & Karla Kerr

Thanks to their transformational gift, our operating rooms are now equipped with five laparoscopes, two resectoscopes, one ureterorenoscope, one ureteroscope, and one uretherotome. These tools are crucial for evaluating kidney, prostate, and bladder conditions, helping inform detailed treatment plans, as well as for performing minimally invasive surgeries, reducing recovery times, and offering the best possible patient outcomes.

This is more than just an equipment upgrade. It’s lives changed, families supported, and care brought closer to home.

To Neil and Karla Kerr, thank you for your vision, generosity, and heartfelt commitment to healthcare in our community! Your gift is already making a meaningful difference and will continue to have a lasting legacy for Peace Arch Hospital.
