Czorny Alzheimer Centre
Peace Arch Hospital Foundation accepts donations on behalf of the Czorny Alzheimer Centre, located in Surrey, BC. Owned by the Czorny Alzheimer Centre Society and operated by Fraser Health since 2007, the Centre is designed to provide psychological security, care and comfort through five home-like cottage living spaces: Rose Garden, Sweet Pea, Pansy Lane, Poppy Place and Sunflower Lane. The 60-bed environment serves to enrich the residents' lives through activities appropriate for people living with Alzheimer's disease, while providing around the clock professional nursing care.
A lot of love has gone into building the Czorny Alzheimer Centre with the hope that residents can feel at home in the cottages; there are communal kitchens, living rooms and cozy fire places along with two resident pets, a cat and a rabbit, who roam the halls. The Centre offers music therapy, recreation, a spa, hair salon, hall with a dance floor, kitchen and piano. Residents can bake, garden and have visitors at any time.
Located on a quiet country street surrounded by farms, the Centre provides a peaceful backdrop for walking and visiting with loved ones; the circular outdoor paths through the gardens ensure no one gets lost and feature benches, flowers and strawberry patches.
Your donation will support the purchase of equipment, facility improvements and resident comforts.
