TB Vets, a charitable organization dedicated to helping British Columbians with respiratory illness lead healthy and productive lives for more than 70 years, has donated $30,000 to Peace Arch Hospital towards the purchase of a portable ventilator designed for both adult and pediatric patients.

“This portable ventilator improves safety and capability for our patients,” said Trevor Whyte, Registered Respiratory Therapist. “I have used it to successfully minimize the interventions required for a six year-old boy in severe respiratory distress. It’s a life- supporting device that will make a substantial impact in our patients’ lives.”

“We can’t thank TB Vets enough for their support of respiratory care for our patients,” said Stephanie Beck, the Foundation’s Executive Director. “The equipment they have funded has been invaluable to Peace Arch Hospital.”

“Providing the best quality health care requires a multitude of partnerships,” said Kandys Merola, TB Vets’ Executive Director. “TB Vets values our partnership with Peace Arch Hospital Foundation. We are committed to respiratory wellness and are thrilled this vital life-saving portable ventilator will enhance patient care.”

Since 1989, TB Vets has donated nearly $177,000 to Peace Arch Hospital for the purchase of respiratory equipment.
