Picnic on the Point

While the iconic White Rock pier undergoes repairs, the Peninsula’s most-anticipated fundraiser, Picnic on the Pier, was held on Saturday, August 17, off the pier, at a secret location in Ocean Park. Picnic on the Point was a huge success with 350 guests sipping Champagne and enjoying the ocean views, all in support of Peace Arch Hospital.

Sponsored by Landmark Premiere Properties and its Foster Martin development, the event, now in its fourth year, raised $50,000 towards critically-needed medical equipment. In total, more than $200,000 has been raised for Peace Arch Hospital since 2016.

“With White Rock’s beloved pier under construction, we weren’t sure this event would happen this year,” said Janice Stasiuk, Peace Arch Hospital Foundation’s vice-chair. “We are so thankful one of our supporters offered their spectacular home as the location and that Landmark Premiere Properties was keen to make sure this fundraiser for Peace Arch Hospital went ahead as planned.”

Guests dined on a gourmet picnic dinner of seafood, BBQ chicken, braised beef short ribs, salads, and desserts catered by the Joseph Richard Group’s Blank Canvas Catering and CBC’s Fred Lee was back again as master of ceremonies.

“Like our partners at the Peace Arch Hospital Foundation we look forward to this special evening all year,” said Ray Chen, President and Managing Partner of Landmark Premiere Properties. “After four years this annual fundraising evening has become a summer fixture, one we are proud to host as we celebrate our local hospital and the great work they do for White Rock and Surrey. We’re already looking forward to 2020.”

Picnic on the Point hopes to return to its origins as Picnic on the Pier on White Rock’s waterfront in August 2020.
