Princess Party Raises Over $22,000 for All Abilities & All Ages Playground

Friday, August 31, 2018

The ninth edition of the White Rock Princess Party took place at Centennial Arena on July 28th. This year, the funds raised at this magical event were allocated toward the cost of building a new All Abilities and All Ages Playground in Ruth Johnson Park. The Princess Party had been a passion project for founder and organizer Myra Merkal and the White Rock Fire Fighters Charity Association.

This year, for the first time, Peace Arch Hospital Foundation hosted the event in order that we can continue Myra’s good work in both raising funds for a playground and for providing families in our community with a spectacular event.

The theme this year centred around Rapunzel, Flynn Ryder and their princess friends, and featured many of the same elements Myra brought to the event, including face painting, a cake walk and crafting. New for this year were a hair styling station and a special medical clinic for the kids. There was a morning and afternoon session, and an exclusive VIP room with a few surprises and a one-on-one interaction with Moana.
