Picnic on the Pier raises $56,100 for Peace Arch Hospital Foundation

Friday, August 11, 2017

More than 300 guests gathered at the iconic White Rock Pier last night for a dazzling long table dinner in support of Peace Arch Hospital Foundation.

Sponsored by Landmark Premiere Properties, the event, now in its second year, raised $56,100 for a new hospice residence being built across from Peace Arch Hospital.

“We are so thankful to Landmark Premiere Properties for creating and sponsoring this fundraiser,” said Siobhan Philips, Peace Arch Hospital Foundation’s Board Chair. “Last year they wanted to do something unique and memorable that would bring the community together and support Peace Arch Hospital and I am thrilled they offered to host this spectacular event once again. It was a magical night for philanthropy!”

Guests dined on a gourmet picnic dinner of seafood, roast chicken, salads and desserts catered by Sheila’s Catering of South Surrey and were greeted with artisan ice cream from White Rock’s Sweet Republic as they exited the pier at the end of the evening.

“Landmark Premiere Properties doesn’t just create vibrant communities we believe in supporting them as well. The Peace Arch Hospital is an integral part of the White Rock community and provides excellent care to those in need. We are honored to help bring people together to support this important local cause," said Ray Chen, President and Managing Partner of Landmark Premiere Properties.

CBC’s Fred Lee was the master of ceremonies and auctioneer for the live auction that brought in more than $10,000 for the hospital.

Now an annual event, Picnic on the Pier will return to White Rock in August 2018.
