Peace Arch Hospital Foundation retires Great Pumpkin Run Walk

Thursday, July 04, 2019

After 12 wonderful years, the Great Pumpkin Run Walk has officially retired.

The Halloween-themed event launched in 2007 and raised nearly $740,000 for Peace Arch Hospital over the years.

“The Great Pumpkin Run Walk had a terrific run,” said Stephanie Beck, Peace Arch Hospital Foundation’s Executive Director. “But as what typically happens over time with these peer-to-peer fundraising events, participant numbers and sponsorship tends to decline and we were no exception. Our board felt it was the right time to retire the Run Walk so our events team can focus on other opportunities. It will always hold such fond memories for all of us at the Foundation.”

A Boo-tiful Yard Sale

With the Great Pumpkin Run Walk officially wrapped, Peace Arch Hospital Foundation has a storage locker of Halloween and other event décor up for grabs! The entire community is invited to attend the Boo-tiful Yard Sale of props on Friday, July 26 in the McCracken Courtyard at Peace Arch Hospital and take home some fantastic finds. The sale will run from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and all funds raised will go towards the new Generations Playground.

Thank you to all who supported this event over the years!
