Peace Arch Hospital Foundation announces naming contest for new all-abilities playground

Monday, June 04, 2018

A brand new all abilities and all ages playground being built next to Centennial Arena in White Rock is on track to open at the end of July and Peace Arch Hospital Foundation and the City of White Rock needs the community’s help to find a name.

“This playground is being built for our community and we want everyone who will use it to help give it a name,” said Stephanie Beck, the Foundation’s Executive Director. “We really see this playground as a gathering place for people young and old to play, socialize and be active and what better way to involve the community than to give them the opportunity to name it. This is their space to enjoy.”

The online contest launches today at pahfoundation.ca/park and submissions must be 15 characters or less. Entries will be accepted until Tuesday, July 3 and then the playground committee, made of up City of White Rock council and Foundation board members, will select a name which will be unveiled at the grand opening celebration taking place in late July.

The contest winner will be invited to the grand opening event and will receive a gift basket from the Foundation and City of White Rock.

“We believe this green space will be a wonderful asset for White Rock and South Surrey and knowing that our community had a hand in naming it is that much better,” Beck said.
